Progressive Preschool Awards product judging success

The judging for the product categories of the Progressive Preschool Awards 2018 took place on Tuesday 14 August and saw buyers and influencers from across the preschool sector coming together for a morning of getting hands-on with the latest product.

Suppliers from right across the spectrum have been sending in their very best products and ranges over the last few months – with each product aimed at the preschool market (0 – 5 yrs old) and launched at retail between July 2017 and July 2018. Entries could be for a single product or a range of up to five items.

The judging itself took place in a centrtal London location, with buggies, toys, clothes and nursery essentials making up some of the product which had been placed on display for the judges’ careful perusal.

This year’s impressive judging panel then took full responsibility for the judging itself, with buyers from some of the nations top retailers including Mothercare, JoJo Maman Bebe, Tesco, Sainsburys and Amazon as well as a whole host of specialist independent retailers and preschool influencers.

The judges considered each category in turn, taking into account criteria such as cost, design, quality and pricing, before making their selections.

“It’s really great to be able to come along here today and take a look at what’s on offer,” said Jade Crow, nursery and toy buyer at JoJo Maman Bebe. “It’s a great opportunity to catch up with everyone. I do think smaller brands should take more advantage of the fact that it is free to enter these awards – it’s a great hunting ground for those of us looking for something a bit different!”

Votes are currently being counted and verified before the deserving finalists will be announced in the coming weeks. The winner will be revealed at the Progressive Preschool Awards ceremony on Thursday 8 November at London’s Dorchester Hotel.
