Preschool names shine in Gift of the Year shortlist

The shortlist for this year’s Gift of the Year competition – organised by The Giftware Association – has been revealed, with a number of preschool names taking their place across the various categories.

Chris Workman, the GA’s marketing and PR manager, commented: “This year’s shortlist reflects all the hard work and innovativeness from our industry, work that has been going on behind closed doors, with staff shortages and lockdowns. However, after a tough few years, we are starting to see a sense of normality return, with the Gift of the Year competition the gift that keeps on giving, with so many great entries this year that the judges have had a tough time in choosing the finalists.”

When it comes to the nursery and toy industries, there are a host of nominations.

Blade & Rose has made the Branded Gift shortlist with its Peter Rabbit apparel collection, while Ziggle Baby is nominated in the Under £15 category for its Baby Swaddles.

The Children’s, Educational and Preschool shortlist features Widdop & Co, nominated for its That’s not my… collection (which includes clocks, cushions, dinner sets, frame and album sets. hanging door plaque, height charts, a keepsake box and resin photo frames); Fiesta Crafts for its Pop-Up Theatre Production; The Puppet Company & Wilberry Toys for its Eco Walking Puppets; and Inside Out Toys for ReCycle Me.

In addition, Inside Out Toys is also nominated in Design & Craft for its ReCycle Me product, while the Viking Ecoline makes the shortlist in Ethical and Sustainable Gift, along with Widdop & Co’s Bambino Silicone & Wooden Teethers.
