PPS Awards Focus: The Best Wheeled Goods/Car Seat Range

As one of the biggest purchases a parent will make, pushchairs and car seats are a particularly important product sector and is always an interesting and varied category within the Progressive Preschool Awards. speaks to some of the finalists in this year’s Best Wheeled Goods/Car Seat Range shortlist to find out what the awards mean to them and what their plans are for the big night.

wine glass“We are delighted to be in the finals for this year’s Progressive Preschool Awards and it’s a real testament to the Groowy.
With poor old Harrogate having to close its doors, and no ‘Cologne’, trade awards are more important than ever this year – especially when brands are launching new products. The trade shows always had a great social element to them, and the Progressive Preschool online event is very welcome as an opportunity for us to get together and celebrate.

Uppababy, Cybex, Bebecar and Venicci are all well-established brands across the UK and it is an honour that the JANE Groowy has a place in the final with them. In fact, we hope that Groowy will be purchased by customers of these brands as our Groowy infant carrier can be used with any of these chassis!

We will all be watching this exciting event from the office on the big day – along with office dog, Bella. She is our good luck charm!”

Donna McCullough, marketing manager, Johnston Prams

Carlie - Joolz“Being nominated for any award and especially the Progressive Preschool Awards is a great achievement for Joolz, as it proves to us we are heading in the right direction with our products as well as being in touch with the needs of parents. This year has been turbulent for most people in so many ways, but to have something positive like this is great for team morale.

There’s a huge variety of travel goods within our category with each of them having some great features and designs. At Joolz we have always been proud of the fact we think outside of the box and I think Cybex have really done this with the Eezy S Twist +2 and its unique 360 spin mechanism.

The UK team will be watching at our respective home offices with a glass of bubbles in hand and keeping our fingers crossed for a win, but wishing everyone good luck!”

Carlie Rudkin, national account sales and marketing, Joolz

Josephine Votsis Head shot DIDOFY Hi Res“We are always very proud when one of our pushchairs is nominated for an award and we are absolutely delighted to have made the finalist list for the Best Wheeled Goods/Car Seat Range in the Progressive Preschool Awards!

Trade awards are very important to the didofy team, as they highlight that our industry peers love our products as much as we do. These awards mean even more this year, with the various in person trade events understandably being cancelled.

We cannot choose a favourite from such a strong list of contenders, we are sure that this year the judges have had a tough time selecting a winner. We hope to have the whole didofy team watching virtually, all suited and booted!”

Josephine Votsis, director and founder, didofy

We are really proud to be recognised in this year’s Wheeled Goods/Car Seat Range for one of our key products in 2020, the Eezy S Twist +2.

Reaching the Progressive Preschool Awards shortlist is testament to the hard work of our research and development  team who continue to deliver innovative products in line with parent’s needs. Trade awards are even more important to this year as many shows have been cancelled and the whole industry has been disrupted – the awards are a great way to help spread the word about our products with retailers and consumers.

This year’s competition has certainly been tough, with many brands launching some innovative products, but it’s great to see the virtual awards still going ahead despite the challenges of Covid. The Cybex team will be tuning in online. Good luck to all the finalists!”

Luke Burns, UK & Ireland GM, Cybex
