BabyBjörn introduces the new Harmony Baby Carrier

We caught up with BabyBjörn’s new EMEA marketing manager, Yasmin Kilic, to find out more.

As BabyBjörn celebrates its 60th anniversary, it has announced a new addition to its range of baby carriers – Harmony. The new addition can be used from birth up to around the age of three, with no insert needed.

The Harmony carrier is adjustable to accommodate the growing child and the head support is flexible and holds the baby’s head in a good position from birth. The carrier has two heights, one for newborn and one for older babies, and toddlers can also be carried facing out or on the back.

An ergonomic and pressure-relieving waist belt, padded lumbar support and wide padded shoulder straps offer comfort for the parent and the carrier can be adjusted to different body types.

Harmony features a 3D mesh which is soft but sturdy and breathable, allowing baby and parent to stay cool and also drying quickly after washing.

We spoke to Yasmin Kilic, EMEA marketing manager at BabyBjörn to find out more:

What makes the Harmony different to others in the market?

“Listening and learning from our customer’s feedback and medical experts around the globe, along with our expertise in product design and materials, has enabled us to create a baby carrier that caters to all needs. The Baby Carrier Harmony is a baby carrier for parents who want it all, it is super adaptable for baby from 0-3 years with flexible, soft fabrics and optimal ergonomics for both parent and baby. We are already hearing great things from both customers and from the babywearing community and can’t wait to see the popularity grow.”

What are the key benefits of Harmony?

“The Baby Carrier Harmony is a baby carrier that can be used from newborn up to 36 months, without an insert; it can be used in 4 different positions to allow for maximum adjustability  – with two inward facing options, outward facing, and a back carrying.

“Ensuring perfect ergonomics are met is the most important aspect for us– so parents can be sure that their baby’s legs, hips and head are all supported properly throughout use. We have also been able to integrate superior comfort for the parent with luxuriously padded shoulder straps, a comfortable, pressure-relieving waist belt and additional lumbar support for lower back relief. Our bespoke 3D mesh is a breathable, quick-drying fabric that softly cocoons the baby.”

What are your hopes for the new line?

“As a family-owned company we feel a great sense of dedication to the babies and parents who take us with them on their journey. We strive to simplify daily life for families with young children. The Baby Carrier Harmony has been extensively tested and has already been recognised for its design with a Red Dot award, and a LovedbyParents award. With the Harmony launch, we are excited for more response from families who love carrying their babies close to their hearts, and we hope to positively contribute to their everyday life.”

What’s next for the baby carriers market?

“High adaptability and optimal ergonomics for the baby and the wearer are essential. Baby carriers need to enable changing preferences as well as different shapes and sizes.

“All our products are designed around our core values of safety, quality, and style. This resonates with one social mega-trend that we have been observing, the desire to own less but to own well-made, long-lasting products. Our continuous product development has led to fabrics offering both comfort and functionality. Baby Carrier Harmony combines design longevity with ultimate flexibility, this is the next generation.”
