“It’s great to be face to face with customers”

Phil Heath from Heath’s Toymaster has spoken about the challenges of the last 12 months and how great it is to be open again.

Phil Heath from Heaths Toymaster, Barrow-in-Furness, has given an interview on the challenges the store has faced over the last 12 months and how it has supported several campaigns in the last year.

Speaking to local newspaper, The Mail, Phil said that the last 12 months were probably the hardest he has faced in business.

The store has been running since 1971 and also sells books and stationery, so Phil decided to stay open to serve businesses in the area which purchase their office supplies at Heath’s.

It also took part in a number of campaigns to help the community including putting together activity packs for BAE and Women’s Community Matters.

Having reopened on 12 April, Phil continued: “It’s great to be face to face with customers and have a bit of a banter. Hopefully the next 12 months will be much better. We have been around for 50 odd years, so we’d like to be around a bit longer.”
