Innovative baby rocker company Rockit has been named a finalist in this year’s Small Business Saturday initiative, while also securing export deals which are expected to be worth seven figures over five years.
The Bristol-based team will be distributing thousands of units via a number of new various partners, taking its export reach to well over 40 countries around the world, including Australia and the USA.
Last year the company’s annual turnover was £290,000 with exporting accounting for 57% of the total.
Thanks in part to its impressive export journey, Rockit is also celebrating being selected as one of the Small Biz 100, ahead of Small Business Saturday. The business has been recognised for its innovation and successes for the event, which takes place on 7 December and aims to promote Britain’s small traders amid a difficult retail market.
“There was nothing quite like Rockit on the market and we wanted to capitalise on this by being first to market in numerous territories as quickly as possible,” said Matt Dyson, director at parent company N2M. “Now exports have really taken off and our turnover in the first five months of this year is almost what we achieved in the previous twelve months.”
He added: “We have received lots of support from DIT during our export journey and our International Trade Advisors have really been instrumental in our global success.”
