JoJo Maman Bébé reports 13% sales growth

Nursery and maternity retailer JoJo Maman Bébé has reported an impressive 12.8% increase in like-for-like sales for the year ending 30 June 2018.

Revenues also rose by 17.6% year-on-year, reaching £67.6million, while pre-tax profits for the year grew by 10% to £4.3 million, compared with profits of £3.9 million in 2017.

The childrenswear expert has put this surge in both full-year sales and profits down to an investment in infrastructure and IT as well as a growth in its physical store portfolio, which included two new stores in the US and seven in the UK during the period.

Overall sales were boosted by an 11.9% increase in retail store sales, but online sales made the biggest contribution to the retailer’s overall growth. This climbed by an impressive 29% to £24.7 million and now accounts for 36.6% of total revenues, a 3.3% growth on the previous year.

In the report, which was filed with Companies House last week, JoJo Maman Bébé also warned that Brexit is likely to affect buying stock, as many of its products are imported.
