Hippychick crowned best SME at South West Business Awards

Family-owned nursery accessories expert Hippychick has been named the best SME at the South West Business Awards in its 20th anniversary year.

The South West Business and Community Awards are designed to recognise businesses, charities, and individuals that have made an outstanding contribution in the region. The business, which is based in Bridgwater Somerset, was also a finalist in the Employer of the Year Awards category.

Hippychick is a £3.5 million turnover business, which employs 17 members of staff and distributes 1,300 product lines and the award was collected by co-managing director Jeremy Minchin

Commenting on the award win, Jeremy said; “It’s been tough for the last couple of years with the market uncertainty surrounding Brexit and this continues to have a damaging impact on our business. But we are weathering the storm and have a fantastic team of people to help us navigate through it.”

He continued; “It’s great news to win this award not only in our twentieth year, but amidst so many gloomy announcements about business prospects in the UK. Hippychick has been based in Somerset for the past twenty years. We intend to remain here and continue to be part of the UK business community for many more years to come.”
