Baby Heidi looks to charm preschool aisles

New character stars in series of YouTube premieres featuring songs for babies and children.

A new version of the classic Heidi character is looking to charm the preschool sector.

Baby Heidi is the brainchild of European entertainment company Planeta Junior.

The character stars in a series of YouTube premieres, featuring popular songs for babies and children in four languages: Catalan, English, Italian and Spanish.

The videos are animated in a colourful, bright style drawn and feature baby versions of the key characters from the classic children’s story – from Heidi and Pedro to Snowflake the baby goat and Josef the St Bernard dog.

The videos will be featured content on the YouTube Kids homepage.

The songs are further supported by a new website which will allow parents to access weekly articles featuring parenting tips and advice. Baby Heidi will also have a dedicated Instagram account to further engage with consumers.

Plans are also in the pipeline for new forms of entertainment and products.
