Plan Toys underlines environmental credentials

Toy company uses Earth Day to put priority on environmental issues.

Plan Toys has underlined its environmental credentials to coincide with Earth Day at the weekend.

The company holds various eco-friendly activities such as reforestation and seaside scavenge throughout the year under the concept of ‘Sustainable Mind’.

It had also been encouraging its partners to hold ‘green, but fun’ Earth Day activities.

Last year’s focus was on bees, which saw Plan Toys make a bee ladder game, providing information about the causes of bees’ population decline and how bees should be treated. The company also gave away flower seeds for customers to plant for nectar.

The 2018 Earth Day concept is to end plastic pollution, with Plan Toys taking this and the connection with the dugong endangered species as its Earth Day theme.

In Thailand, the species is found mostly in Trang Province, where Plan Toys’ factory is located.

The Earth Day kit includes a colouring sheet with a story about dugongs, along with dugongs’ feeds on social media throughout the month, with the aim to raise public awareness. Seagrass planting and seaside scavenge activities will also be held in the near future.
