dantoy picks up accolades for latest sustainable products

Danish company, dantoy is continuing to pick up awards for its newest products, which are made from maritime gear found in the oceans.

Last week saw the company win the Danish toy industry sustainability prize, while it has also picked up the Silver award at the Toy Industries of Europe’s Play for Change 2022 accolades in the sustainability category.

dantoy’s sand and water toys are made of plastic recycled from nets, trawls and rope from the fishing industry.

It also marks the third year in a row that dantoy has been honoured by the TIE for its sustainable products.

“We are very proud of being at the top again when it comes to sustainable toys both in Denmark and in Europe,” commented the company’s Mette Matthiasen. “At dantoy we see it as an obligation to produce in the most sustainable way, and we strive to do this more and more every day.

“We believe that it is essential that the toys signal sustainability and not at least the ocean where the material is collected from. This is especially important because we produce toys for children who are the coming consumers that must learn about the importance of recycling and cleaning the oceans.”
