CYBEX launches Anoris T2 i-Size

Following the launch of the first child car seat with an integrated full body airbag in 2021, CYBEX has introduced a new and improved version – the Anoris T2 i-Size.

After the German-based company launched the Anoris and was awarded test winner by ADAC, with an overall rating of 1.5 “very good”, CYBEX has  developed the innovation further.

Similar to its predecessor, the Anoris T2 i-Size ensures comprehensive safety for children at every stage of their journey.

“Airbags have been protecting adults in vehicles for decades. They have become indispensable safety features, making it virtually impossible to buy a car without one,” emphasised Martin Pos, founder of CYBEX.

“For us, the next logical step was therefore to develop a corresponding full-body airbag that also offers children maximum safety in the car, especially since studies on child seat safety show that around 80% [according to Child Seat Safety Ltd, United Kingdom: 2013-2023, data of approx. 10,000 child and seat usage] of parents allow their offspring to travel forward-facing even under the age of two, which reduces their safety by around 50%.”

The airbag technology integrated in the Anoris T2 i-Size provides up to 50% more safety in the event of a frontal impact than conventional forward-facing child seats with a five-point harness system (Compared to a forward-facing child seat in a frontal impact. Results of internal tests according to the criteria of the ADAC frontal crash test 2023).

The airbag inflates in milliseconds to form a C-shape around the impact shield, which also provides optimum protection for the head and neck. The forces are distributed over the entire body and the child remains securely in place.

“At CYBEX, we are not afraid to challenge the status quo, not even when we have set the standard ourselves,” continued Martin.

The new Anoris T2 i-Size provides comprehensive protection for children aged between 15 months and seven years when travelling forward-facing, giving three years more growing room than most conventional child seats and one year more than the previous model.

In addition to the safety aspect, the Anoris T2 i-Size also scores highly in terms of its intelligent, ergonomic design. The child car seat has a compact One-Click impact shield, which is smaller than its predecessor.

The child no longer carries the weight of the impact shield as it is held in place by a spacer. As a result, the new model guarantees a higher level of comfort, which also makes onboarding and offboarding easier.
