The K+J Report: Apramo UK

Baby and infant trade show Kind + Jugend 2018, which took place from 20 – 23 September, played host to a number of exciting launches, industry announcements and brand new products. Apramo’s UK and Ireland sales manager Gary Anderson explained how the company took the opportunity to celebrate its tenth anniversary at the show.

Hello Gary! How was Kind + Jugend for you?

“The show was great! We’ve had a really positive reaction to our product range, in particular our new All Stage Group 0/1/2/3 car seat. We’re working really hard at the moment to further build our brand awareness in the UK and the All Stage has really kicked things off! K+J is obviously a key date in the nursery calendar, bringing the industry together in one place. For us it provides a significant and timely platform to showcase our product developments and gain insightful feedback from suppliers, as well as catch up with potential and existing customers.”

This year has been a significant one for Apramo, hasn’t it. Can you tell us a little about that?

“Yes, you could say that! We’ve been working really hard to build our brand profile with both retailers and consumers by appointing a PR agency and ramping up our social media activities. Behind the scenes we’re also focusing on building our marketing content and creating our UK identity. Most significantly, Apramo UK has taken the leap to be an independent UK company, following 18 successful months with distributing company On Logistics, who will continue to support us.”

And it’s your tenth anniversary as well! Have you been celebrating?

“We most certainly have! At K+J we invited our customers and distributors to a special 10th anniversary cocktail party on our stand on Friday evening. The cocktails were flowing and all I am going to say is ‘What happened on the stand – stays on the stand!’ A great night was had by all!”

What’s been the main focus of this year’s show for you?

“Our All Stage car seat has been the star of the show. It was a great opportunity for us to showcase its different stages and we also wanted to reach new audiences, which we achieved. We’re really hoping that the year ahead represents the starting point for major brand growth for Apramo UK – so watch this space!”

And of course we can’t forget the Flippa, which has been shortlisted for a Progressive Preschool Award. Has that been received well?

“We’re really excited to be shortlisted. This is a great achievement in itself but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for another win of course! The Flippa Dining Booster is a great little product – I have one myself for our 10-month old and we use it all the time both at home and when we are out and about.  Everyone with a little one should have one of these!”
