“We take each day as it comes and appreciate every order we receive”

Le Toy Van’s Steven Le Van tells PreschoolNews.net how the company is keeping business going during lockdown.

As part of a series of interviews with businesses in the preschool sector, PPS speaks to Steven Le Van, md at Le Toy Van, about how the company is keeping business going throughout the current restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

What are your immediate concerns? How are you looking to tackle these?

We are a small family business, and this is certainly going to be a difficult time for us. As a non-essential business, during these tough economic times we completely understand that there are more important things in life right now than toy shopping.

However, being stuck inside we have found people are looking for activities and toys to entertain little ones at home. We are taking each day as it comes and appreciate every order we receive.

How are you keeping business going? What products are still selling and where are you selling them (online, etc)?

Fortunately, many of our trusted online partners can operate their shops remotely making our products available on a national and international scale. We are also lucky as we can still process and fulfill orders through our website with safe measures in place. Deliveries may take longer than usual due to reasons out of our control, but we are doing what we can in the situation. Restocking products may be delayed as we do appreciate that essential items should be prioritised.

What is your longer-term view?

The situation is changing day-to-day, so it is difficult to look too far ahead. As a seasonal business we are hopeful that things will go back to normal in the lead up to Christmas. Looking that far ahead right now is impossible, but we hope the government puts the right strategy in place to safely restart the economy when the time is right.

For now, we are focusing on staying safe and positive through this difficult time, looking forward to the day we can be reunited with family, friends and our Le Toy Van team.
