Preschool products pick up awards at Nuremberg

Winners crowned at ToyAwards to mark the official opening of this year’s show.

A number of preschool products picked up accolades at the ToyAwards on January 29, marking the official kick off for this year’s Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg, Germany.

The presentation of the awards was the highlight of the official opening ceremony for the 70th Spielwarenmesse – which runs until February 3 – with four age-specific categories: Baby & Infant (0-3), Preschool (3-6), SchoolKids (6-10) and Teenager & Adults (10 and over), plus a new Category Startup.

The Magic Touch Piano Musical Toy from Hape (pictured) was awarded the Baby & Infant category, while bworld theme sets from Bruder Spielwaren won the Preschool category.

The ToyAwards are judged by a panel of 16 industry experts, who this year had to choose from 838 entries.
