“Clever stuff for clever babies”: talking to Cosatto’s Andrew Kluge

PreschoolNews.net spoke to Andrew Kluge, Cosatto’s ceo, about the company’s latest child-focused developments and what’s in store for 2019.

How has business been for Cosatto over the last 12 months?

“We’ve had another exciting year with some good growth areas and a series of new product launches including Woosh, Dino, and our best car seats yet. There have been some challenges with a difficult retail landscape but we have managed to adapt and stay on track.”

What do you think is the single most important thing parents are looking for in the buggy/car seat market and how do you meet their demands?

“Quality, convenience, durability, safety as well as fashion are all the main considerations. There is no single thing really – it’s all down to personal choice. We have a wide range which caters for different budgets, household circumstances and fashion styles, from lightweight strollers to versatile and hugely practical travel systems. Quality, practicality and safety are always key. What makes Cosatto different is the use of pattern, colour and design for the baby and toddler’s benefit. To most adults, our products look like interesting and colourful designs. For babies, they do much more.”

What do you have in store for 2018/2019?

“The big development for next year is all about our brand and how we communicate with parents. From a combination of customer feedback and focus groups, we have found out that they really value our products because of the baby benefit inherent in the design approach we take. Right across the range we use colour, images and patterns to engage and stimulate babies, and have been increasingly influenced by the latest findings in baby science and cognitive psychology to shape our range. It’s all part of our new partnership with the world-leading BabyLab at the University of Sussex, experts in infant vision and our official science partner.”

What do you think is in store for the future of the preschool mobility market?

“Different brands have different approaches. We’re clear on what we’re all about, and in a nutshell, it’s prams with baby-pleasing patterns in the hood, and strollers and car seats that kids actually want to sit in all packaged in a fabulous looking product. That’s what we do here at Cosatto: clever stuff for happy babies.”
