Hey Duggee and Something Special wooden toy lines planned

8th Wonder signs deal with BBC Studios to create new lines for both brands.

8th Wonder is to launch new wooden toy ranges for Hey Duggee and Something Special, after securing a deal with BBC Studios.

The agreement marks the first wooden toy range for Hey Duggee and the first wooden Something Special toys to hit the market since wooden jigsaw puzzles were launched in AW12 by Golden Bear.

The range for both brands will include wooden vehicles and will launch at retail from spring 2019.

8th Wonder are delighted to be partnering with the BBC Studios on Hey Duggee and Mr Tumble wooden toys,” said Gary Tyrer, md of 8th Wonder. “With 21 years of creating distinctive, innovative wooden toys and building strong relationships with key retailers we are excited to bring to life our wooden toys through these fantastic preschool brands.”

Julie Kekwick, senior licensing manager at BBC Studios, added: “We are thrilled to be working with 8th Wonder for the first time. We feel their wonderful products will perfectly complement Golden Bear’s range for Hey Duggee and Something Special.”
