Primo Toys celebrating Bett award win

Educational toy company wins in the Early Years Content category for its Cubetto play-set.

Educational toy company Primo Toys is celebrating scooping a prestigious Bett award.

The company picked up the accolade in the Early Years Content category for its Cubetto play-set.

Cubetto is a wooden robot designed to teach children how to code using a tangible programming language that doesn’t use screens or literacy.

The Bett Awards play a key role in identifying and rewarding excellence in education trade. The winning organisations were announced at the Bett Awards dinner in London on Wednesday January 24.

The panel of judges comprising of education experts, who evaluate each entry based on its appreciation of the sector’s needs and commitment to supporting education standards, said: “We loved the simplicity, style and sturdiness of the cube which has excellent design features based on the fundamentals of great early years’ practice. It has huge potential for enhanced teacher support, too.”

Filippo Yacob, ceo at Primo Toys, added: “We had a fantastic time at the Bett show this year, which was topped off by receiving the prestigious award. It’s centred around content, which really highlights the educational value of our work with Cubetto. We have received many design awards, so it’s great to add a new accolade to the list.

“It’s brilliant that our friendly wooden robot has been recognised in the education sector, as we want to encourage children to learn in a fun and different way. This award will help us in our journey to make computer programming an integral part of early years development across the world.”
