Cheeky Chompers celebrates 10th anniversary

The award-winning British teething and baby brand is celebrating ten years in business.

Cheeky Chompers began when co-founders Julie Wilson and Amy Livingstone met at an antenatal class and were fed up of lost, dropped and dirty teethers. They saw a gap in the market and invented a teether which stays attached to the baby.

The first Neckerchew teething bib was launched in 2013 and soon after, the pair were approached by BBC’s Dragons Den to appear on the show. While they didn’t receive an investment, the dragons gave the brand a glowing endorsement and boosted its PR and brand awareness.

The Cheeky Chompers range is now sold in over 350 global retailers, across 30 different countries, most recently launching with Babies R Us and Next online.

Having sold over three million products worldwide, Julie and Amy have won 52 business and product awards.

Julie commented: “It’s been an amazing but challenging 10 years. We have achieved so much and have had great support from our network we’ve built, which is so important for women in business. In terms of what’s next… watch this space for our expansion into the US market and new product development ideas are always bubbling away in the background.”
