Johnston Prams unveils new sustainable range

Johnston Prams has put together a range of sustainable baby products with Scandi pram manufacturer, Noordi.

In an effort to protect the planet, and the rights of its workers, Noordi’s mission is to reshape its business and become truly sustainable.

Donna McCullough from Johnston Prams, commented: “It’s easy for a brand to just say it’s going green. They call this greenwashing. But even the banks are selling green mortgages, so the nursery industry must catch up.

“We are impressed with Noordi as they are making real changes to how they operate. They use natural resources and solar power in their factory. They recycle and upcycle plastics and materials and they are developing supportive working conditions for their skilled workers. Noordi prams are designed and manufactured in Northern Europe, so – and this is important – their journey to the UK has a smaller global footprint.

“Noordi is also manufacturing a new OEKO-TEX standard baby pod/maternal cushion for us. This pod’s dual function, and -6 to +6 life span, gives it longevity and makes it one of its kind on the market.”

Johnston Prams will also be offering the new Forrest bedding. Crafted from cotton fabric which is OEKO-TEX standard and REACH compliant, the range also includes products with the Global Organic Textile Standara (GOTS). Again, the range is produced in the EU, minimising its global footprint.

Also on offer is the Cocoon furniture, which transforms from crib to cot, to toddler bed, to sofar. Made from 100% solid wood, this quality furniture is built to last.
