Medela introduces new single electric breast pump

The Solo is an updated version of the Swing Flex, with a sleek new look, and more features to keep single pumping simple and straight forward.

Small enough to fit in one hand, the Solo is light and compact, featuring a new design with a four button interface and nine pre-programmed settings. The pump also includes an intergrated USB rechargeable battery supporting up to six pumping sessions on a fully charge.

Also much quieter than the previous generations, Solo has less than 45DB at the maximum expression level. The pump is also easy to clean with fewer parts, and a closed system to prevent milk from entering the tubing.

The oval-shaped PersonalFit Flex™ breast shield is also included and helps to find the most comfortable position while adapting to each mum’s unique shape, while also being clinically proved to produce 11% more milk.

Medela’s marketing manager, Charlotte Price, commented: “Following the success of the new Swing Maxi launch, we are so excited to bring the developed design features to a single pump option. The Solo includes all of the great elements that made the Swing Flex so effective, but now with more efficiency in an even more compact design.

“We know the USB charging capabilities can be a real game changer for busy mums who may need to charge on the go, so it is so exciting to have that available in a single pump. Alongside the closed system and Flex technology, the Solo may be small but is certainly mighty.”
