Little Tikes unveils new Tobi Robot Smartwatch

Older preschoolers will be able to enjoy a host of interactive features on toy company’s first smartwatch.

Toy brand Little Tikes has launched its first smartwatch, the Tobi Robot Smartwatch, combining interactive features with a robot which ‘comes to life before their eyes’.

The smartwatch – which is aimed at children from age four, meaning older preschoolers can safely use it – includes dual photo and video cameras, a robot personality and numerous built-in games and features.

The robot personality comes to life with moving arms and legs on the side of the watch, while there are also 100+ expressions to get kids giggling, dancing, playing and learning.

The built-in memory has the ability to store up to 3,000 photos or 30 minutes of video, while the games aim to promote learning, play and fitness.

Children can also play interactively with friends while safely socially distancing with a Walkie Talkie app, allowing them to listen to voice messages from nearby smartwatches.

Children and their parents can track footsteps with the built-in pedometer, while the 50+ digital and analog clock faces will help children learn to tell the time in a fun and interactive way. Additional practical features include calendar, alarm clock, stopwatch and timer.

The smartwatch will be available in two colourways – blue and pink – with both priced at £49.99.

“We’re delighted to bring the Tobi Robot Smartwatch to the UK market,” said Michelle Lilley, head of marketing UK for Little Tikes. “It’s the first smartwatch we’ve launched and we thoroughly believe that kids will have hours of endless fun unlocking all the different elements to the watch.”

The launch is being supported through a heavyweight TV campaign starting in August which will run throughout autumn, along a strong digital advertising, PR, social and media strategy throughout F20 and beyond.
