Toys R Us and Babies R Us is ‘hitting the ground running’ in the UK

Toys R Us and Babies R Us is ‘hitting the ground running’ in the UK, with Louis Mittoni, ceo and md of Toys R Us Australia, officially introducing and welcoming the team.

Confirming the new arrivals in a LinkedIn post, Louis stated: “With this dynamic team now in place, we’ve hit the ground running faster than I could have imagined and they have been reaching out to the supply base to see with whom we can align on this amazing journey.”

Mike Coogan – who rejoined TRU UK in December 2021 as ecommerce and marketing director – started the ecommerce business for the retailer back in 1996, with Louis describing Mike’s wealth of experience as “a huge asset” as the brand begins to build.

Diane Lee started at the company in January as buying director, having spent more than 30 years in buying and merchandising. 20 of those years were in the toy and baby business at Mothercare, Early Learning Centre, Hamleys and Babies R Us.

Supporting Diane, Katie Ellis joins as senior buyer on Babies R Us. She has spent over 20 years buying all areas of the baby business, starting her career at Tesco, followed by Babies R Us and Mothercare.

James Ford has taken on the role of senior toy buyer, bringing with him 20 years’ experience at Debenhams, seven of those spent within the toy category.

Finally, Lukasz Jasinski started his career on the shop floor before working his way up to area manager, before making the move into buying. He joined Argos on infant and preschool and will now transfer these skills into the baby industry within Babies R Us.
