The new range was unveiled at The Baby Show, ExCel, with an influencer and media event on its stand.
Cycle features some of Joie’s most popular products – i-Spin 360, i-Trillo, mytrax pro, versatrax, ramble and i-Snug 2 – all created with fabrics made from recycled plastic.
The collection uses the the same metal components as other Joie products, to ensure they are just as safe and long-lasting, but the fabric is made from recycled plastic waste, thus using fewer resources during production than virgin materials.
The discarded debris is shredded into flakes, which are then melted and spun into super soft thread. The thread is then knitted into high quality durable fabric that’s comfortable and safe for baby.
To celebrate the collection, Joie commissioned eco artist, Sarah Turner, to create a pushchair made entirely of plastic waste. Dubbed ReTrax, to fit with other pushchairs in the collection, the sculpture formed the centre piece for the range on the stand.
Sarah commented: “The pushchair I made for Joie was certainly challenging. Hundreds of plastic bottles were used to create the sculpture and each part of the bottle is used. Plastic bottle caps make up the framework, the main body of the bottle in the crib and the bottle bases were used to create the beautiful good and the wheels.”
