WowWee ready to unveil Pinkfong lines

Korean education start-up is focused on preschool entertainment and unique content creation.

WowWee has secured an exclusive licensing agreement with Pinkfong, a Korean education start-up which is focused on preschool entertainment and unique content creation.

With over 170 apps available in 112 countries and counting, Pinkfong has amassed over 200 million global downloads, of which nearly 50 million are from the US.

Its YouTube channel has close to 14 million subscribers, with combined video views of over ten billion and counting.

The company made international headlines with its viral phenomenon Baby Shark Dance. The video went viral beginning in Southeast Asia in July 2017 and has steadily increased in popularity, making its way recently to Europe and North America.

To date, the video has over 1.6 billion views and counting. While the Baby Shark Dance video has achieved unprecedented virality, other top Pinkfong videos have garnered views in the hundreds of millions.

“We’re excited to embark on a strategic partnership with Pinkfong and look forward to our teams collaborating on this exciting brand,” said Richard Yanofsky, president and co-founder of WowWee. “Pinkfong produces content that deeply resonates with a global audience and expertly harnesses it across digital platforms to drive meaningful engagement.

“WowWee’s signature innovation and interactive play naturally complements Pinkfong’s approach to preschool entertainment at scale.”

The product line will launch in autumn 2019.
