Silver Cross shortlisted for Which? Sustainability Champion of the Year award

The new Sustainability Champion Award is new for 2022 and celebrates brands which have shown sustainability innovation and good practice.

Silver Cross has been shortlisted because it’s currently the only baby product company offering a dedicated and free car seat recycling service.

As car seats can’t be sold or used second hand for safety reasons, the service ensures they don’t go to landfill at the end of their life cycle and that every part is recycled.

At the recycling plant, the specialist team use expert lasers to separate the recyclable materials, which can then be re-used in the production of other products and packaging across a wide variety of industries.

Hamish McPhillips, Silver Cross head of car safety, commented: “At Silver Cross we’re all about the next generation, so sustainability is a core part of our business – whether that’s our recycling processes, or how we package, display and design our products.

“We’re incredibly proud to have launched the first and only car seat recycling scheme, which in just six months has prevents 112 car seats from going to landfill. We’re delighted to be shortlisted for the Which? Sustainability Champion of the Year award.”

Silver Cross customers who no longer need their car seat can book a collection at for it to be recycled free of charge.
