Read the Sept/Oct issue of Progressive Preschool

The September/October issue of Progressive Preschool is out now, previewing two important shows for the preschool industry; Kind und Jugend and Brand Licensing Europe.

Traditionally a time for retailers and suppliers to catch their breath before the all-consuming run-up to Christmas, this summer has been remarkably positive for the retail trade. The serotonin-boosting effect of the good weather has seen consumers taking to the high streets, making the most of the opportunity to browse in the sunshine. And with those minds now turning towards Christmas, it there’s little time to rest between seasons.

However, it’s crucial that retailers make time for the next big diary entry in the preschool trade is Kind + Jugend, Europe’s biggest nursery show. This year’s show will be building on the back of last year’s successful reshuffle, with the BPA UK Pavilion moving to Hall 4.1 and the official networking drinks reception will be taking place there at 6pm on the first day of the show (Thursday 20 September). We’ll see you there.

Following hot on the heels of Kind + Jugend is Brand Licensing Europe (9 – 11 October), which is taking place a little closer to home in London’s Olympia – although it will be the last year it is held in that venue, before it moves to ExCel for 2019. Our feature on preschool licensing gives an overview of what visitors to the show can expect to see, with a number of exciting new properties on the horizon, all preparing to shake up the preschool landscape. Again, the PPS team will exhibit at BLE alongside sister publication The Licensing Source Book Europe, so do get in touch if you are planning on attending and would like to meet.

Of course, that’s not all you’ll find in this issue, as we’ve also covered the latest developments in the mobility market, taken a look at the newest electronic toys and found out more about the newest toy/literary invention to hit the market, the Moonlite from Spin Master.

The Moonlite is also one of the deserving products which has made it through to the finals of the Progressive Preschool Awards – if you missed our online announcement, take a look at the feature in the magazine, which also includes details on how to book your tickets for Thursday 8 November, the hottest night in the preschool calendar.
