Entries have been coming in thick and fast for the Progressive Preschool Awards 2020, while retailers have been lining up to get involved in the online judging process for this year’s event, which will be taking place on Tuesday 3 November.
“We know that the last four months have been difficult and the industry has faced many uncertainties this year,” said Rob Willis, director at Max Publishing, which owns and organises the Progressive Preschool Awards. “We’re certainly not kidding ourselves that events for the end of the year are hard to plan right now but as with any business we are ensuring that our clients get the service they expect – which in this case is a chance to be recognised for efforts and achievements in product, retail, marketing and more.”
He continued: “We take the current situation very seriously and would never compromise anyone’s safety, but we are still hoping for the best-case scenario – that we can all reunite to celebrate the achievements and recognise the outstanding efforts of the preschool sector over the past year. We are monitoring the government guidelines carefully whilst also maintaining daily contact with our event partners – we have a number of contingency plans, but whatever happens, there will be finalists and there will still be winners this year so do keep the entries coming in.”
With over 1,150 products already entered, this year’s judges will have their work cut out choosing the best preschool product from across all ten categories. The PPSA 2020 entry and judging process has become entirely digital in response to the Covid-19 restrictions, with an online entry portal making it simple and easy for suppliers to register and submit their most impressive new products and ranges of the past year.
With an extended product entry deadline of Friday 14 August, there is still plenty of time for suppliers to send in entries, with the new system making it easier and quicker than ever – simply register, fill out the online form and press submit.
The product categories will once again be judged by an extensive panel of retailers and with this year’s judging also taking place virtually, the PPSA2020 judging panel will be extended to include product experts from right across the UK.
“We really enjoy being able to support the awards every year,” said Sam Dickman, manager at A3 Baby Barn. “Being part of the judging process is great fun and really helpful as we always discover new brands. I will continue to champion the awards – especially this year – as I believe it’s more important than ever that suppliers get involved and take the opportunity to show us what they have done over the past year.”
