New Zealand pushchair and nursery brand phil&teds is celebrating its 25th year of designing cutting-edge baby gear, after opening its doors from a Wellington garage in the mid-90s.
“We’ve come a long way from those humble beginnings,” said founder Campbell Gower, acknowledging the milestone. “In the space of over two decades, the right insight and talent from a terrific team has allowed us to create a uniquely appealing product set and a brand that resonates with both mums and dads.”
Some 25 years ago, phil&teds invented the world’s first single-to-double buggy; in doing so, solving a key parenting challenge. From a brake that stops the buggy automatically to a portable cot that is lighter than the baby, innovation has been a central focus for the phil&teds brand for the last 25 years.
“We understand parents need affordable, innovative solutions to make their lives easier,” Campbell said. “I’m proud to say that all our products adapt in some way to meet a family’s growing needs. We create new categories, not just products!”
Notorious for its bold branding and ultra-adaptable parenting products, phil&teds products are now sold in over 40 international markets and over 1,000 stores worldwide.
“With an eye to the future, we’re always looking at products that test conventional thinking, and push boundaries,” he added. ” Last year we launched an entirely new inline buggy platform, while this year we have created a whole new category for parents at bathtime with the poppy bath seat!”
“Setting trends and global innovations is what we’ve done, and will continue to do, from the other side of the world, for decades to come.”
