New licensees boost The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Galt among new signings as classic brand approaches its 50th anniversary.

The licensing programme is continuing to build for classic brand The Very Hungry Caterpillar ahead of its 50th anniversary in 2019 – with Galt one of the latest companies to come on board.

The educational specialist will be launching The Very Hungry Caterpillar Playnest early next year in grocery, department stores and specialist outlets.

Featuring bright and bold imagery from the book, the fabric-covered inflatable ring has lots of colours, textures and flaps for little fingers to discover and explore.

Galt joins fellow new licensees Insect Lore, Hallmark and Bon Bon Buddies.

In addition, personalised gifting company Signature Gifts will develop a special range of The Very Hungry Caterpillar products spanning homewares, apparel and gift sets.

“These new licensing agreements underline the success of The Very Hungry Caterpillar across multiple categories and how enthusiasm for this evergreen brand continues to pass from generation to generation,” said Charlie Donaldson, joint md at Rocket Licensing.

“These wonderful products from respected players are marvellous additions to the continuing success story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar as its 50th anniversary gets ever closer.”
