Joie and LFC inspires journalists of the future

An 11 year-old Liverpool supporter and budding match reporter has won tickets for January’s Premier League match against Chelsea, courtesy of a Joie Baby competition.

Joie recently invited Junior LFC members to submit a written summary of the team’s 3-1 victory over Southampton at Anfield. The fixture was chosen as it was the closest men’s match to World Children’s Day, on 20 November.

Young fan Conor was chosen as the winner for his review of the game, of which a snippet can be read below:

Anfield was bouncing and we felt there would be more goals coming despite Gavin Bazunu making an outstanding save from Salah, but half-time gave Saints a break from the Liverpool dominance.

In the second half, Liverpool had a penalty shout when Armel Bella-Kotchap brought down Salah in the penalty area but the ref waved play on. Our Mr Reliable James Milner came on in the 68th minute for Harvey Elliott to make his 600th Premier League appearance. What a player!

Alisson Becker had shaved off his massive beard for his 150th Premier League appearance and he made three brilliant saves in the second half to keep the score at 3-1.
