Frugi has announced its charity partners for 2018-2019 as part of its Little clothes BIG change initiative. The company will once again be donating 1% of its yearly turnover to three charities; Chance for Childhood, Little Life Savers and The Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
So far, Frugi’s philanthropic work has raised over £428,000 for a number of great causes. One extremely special project supported by the brand is an orphanage in Umbergaon, India; thanks to Frugi’s donations the organisation now has enough money to build a new home for 40 children.
“It’s a great feeling to know that when someone buys something lovely from Frugi they help to support some fantastic causes,” said Helene Weston, Frugi’s charity coordinator. “Donating 1% of our turnover every year is at the heart of the brand’s DNA and it has been since day one.”
She continued; “We are really looking forward to working with Chance for Childhood and Little Life Savers, as well as continuing our long-standing relationship with the Cornwall Wildlife Trust. We hope our donations will really make a difference.”
Chance for Childhood is Frugi’s official chosen children’s charity, as voted for by the team, where funds will go towards helping to fund the Kinbu nursery in Ghana. Little Life Savers is a national charity committed to teaching CPR skills and management of choking to children, while The Cornwall Wildlife Trust is an environmental charity close to Frugi’s heart. In the past 12 years the company has donated a staggering £135,000 to help fund the charity’s ‘Living Seas’ marine programme.
“We’re passionate about giving children their childhood back,” said Anna-mai Andrews, ceo at Chance for Childhood. “Together we can protect street children from the risks of physical and sexual abuse, human trafficking and child labour and give them a chance to break the cycle of poverty later in life.”
