Much loved Farnham store will close its doors on Monday November 30 after 16 ½ years, but plans are afoot for new, enhanced online offering.
Enchanted Wood – the much loved independent toy store in Farnham – will be closing its doors for the final time on Monday November 30.
However, it will shortly return with a new and enhanced web offering, the team has confirmed.
While the store has been present in Farnham for 16 ½ years, Enchanted Wood has been in existence for over 20 years in total in other locations, Janie Colman told PreschoolNews.net, “so it is a real wrench to shut our last bricks and mortar store”.
An ad placed in the local paper said: “In the words of Woody in Toy Story 4, ‘being there for a child is the most noble thing a toy can do’. During the 16 ½ years of being a part of this wonderful town, we have been privileged to serve the small people of our community.
“And so it makes this announcement all the more difficult. This year has been very eventful to say the least and we have decided it’s time to step back, take a break, wait for this storm to pass, and therefore we will be closing our doors on 30 November.
“It has been an emotional rollercoaster of a week with lots of tears and laughter and amazing treats from our customers: cupcakes, chocolates, champagne and cards. We are very grateful to all our customers who have supported us over the years and super proud of the team that has always gone above and beyond to make your shopping experience as enjoyable as possible.”
The note continued: “Customers will be aware that our current website does not match up to the in-store experience they have been used to, so we will be creating an up to date, easy to use online product to be launched soon. Watch this space.”
