Elmer live show to help mark 30-year milestone

Tour will open in January 2019 and is based on the classic children’s book series.

The 30th anniversary celebrations for Elmer the Patchwork Elephant continue to grow, with a live tour confirmed for 2019 to mark the milestone.

The new live stage adaptation is based on the classic children’s book series by David McKee and will open in The Churchill Theatre, Bromley on January 17, 2019.

It will run through until June 2019 taking in venues in locations including York, Brighton, Hertford, Manchester, Warwick, Norwich and Birmingham among others.

The show will be brought to life by Selladoor Family – the producers behind the likes of James and the Giant Peach and Madagascar the Musical – and MEI Theatrical, which has worked on The Very Hungry Caterpillar show and Sarah & Duck’s Big Top Birthday in the UK.

“Elmer is a wonderful story with a powerful message which will delight children and families who love the hugely popular series of books,” said David Hutchinson, ceo of Selladoor Family.
